Job Description

To provide high quality, cost effective Diving support, supervision and advice to the Contract / Diving Manager.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):-
  • Supervision of diving activities ensuring all operations are carried out in accordance with IMCA diving standards
  • Managing inspection and maintenance of Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoys, hoses, moorings, PLEM and subsea pipelines 
  • Ensure that all equipment used in the execution of diving operations is fully maintained, certified and fit for purpose
  • Supervision of any inspection and maintenance work carried out by Remotely Operated Vehicles
  • Take part in any pollution control response, incident or exercise, within the Terminal and as otherwise directed to assist
  • Ensuring that all operations at the Terminal are conducted in accordance with the Company policies
  • Assist on site management in maintaining an accurate inventory of field spares, stock and SPM related asset spares
  • Ensure that accurate records of all diving and ROV operations are maintained and kept for future reference
  • Plan and provide leave schedules for dive teams to ensure adequate coverage to ensure no disruption to Client operations
  • Ensure that all divers maintain accurate and up-to-date records of their individual diving and ROV activities
  • Maintain all legally required documentation, safley stored and accessible as and when required by authorised personnel
  • Ensure the safety of divers during the execution of every diving operation
  • Conduct bi-annual appraisals for Smit Lamnalco employed personnel and take action to improve performance     


Job Requirements

  • Secondary Vocational eduction
  • Demonstrated competence as a Buoy Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with IMCA C 033 D11
  • SPM operational diving expertise
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ideally min of 5 years relevant work experience
  • Very strong Safety focus across all aspects of the role and operation
  • Team player, collaborative approach, able to engage and partner at all organisational levels
  • Focus on client interface and close liaison with to ensure agreed targets successfully achieved
  • Previous project management experience in an offshore environment
  • Analytical and numerically strong
  • Excellent communicator and bridge-builder, able to both set and to maintain high standards
  • Willingness to travel frequently as required
  • Fluency in English language, written and spoken
