At the Head Office in the Netherlands, we have a job-opening for a talented

                                 Procurement Manager (for multiple regions)

As a Procurement Manager you will lead the Procurement and Supply Chain discipline for the regions Africa/Europe and Nigeria. You will manage (partly remote) a team of local buyers/supply chain staff-members. You will provide advice and guidance to regional management and your team-members on a wide range of procurement and supply chain related matters. As a member of the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Team you will also participate in Global (improvement) projects. The role reports to the Group Procurement & Supply Chain Manager.

Main Job responsibilities:
  • Optimize and maintain local Procurement policies and procedures (in line with the Group strategy) and Supply Chain strategies for the respective regions.
  • Ensure that the right products and services are delivered and available at the right place at the right time in the best possible condition.
  • Manage a team of (partly remote) local buyers and supply chain employees and ensure that procurement policies and procedures are adhered to in daily practice.
  • Strong management of procurement & supply chain projects like Dry Dockings of Vessels.
  • Negotiate solid contracts and local framework agreements.
  • Maintain strong relationships and interact with local management and suppliers.
  • Conduct regular local benchmarks and market research to optimize portfolio of suppliers.  

Job Requirements

Job requirements:
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A Bachelor or Academic degree in one of the following directions: Technical, Business, Commercial or Economical.
  • Proven work experience (5 - 7 years) in a similar Procurement and supply chain role , preferably in the Maritime or Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Energetic personality with a pro-active can-do mentality.
  • Excellent negotiation techniques and strong analytical and communication skills.
  • A commercial feel and a solid understanding of the financial impact of procurement and logistics on the bottom line.
  • Experience with change management processes and ‘remote management’ is a pre.
  • Fluent in Dutch & English.
  • Limited business travel might be required.

Employment conditions

This is a full-time position or for a minimum of 32 hours (4 days) per week. Candidates should be resident in the Netherlands.
