Crew safety
Smit Lamnalco is committed to crew safety in every aspect of the job.
Upon joining, new crews undergo a thorough induction on the Smit Lamnalco Integrated Management System (SLIMS) followed by ship familiarisation. Master and Chief Officers undergo an extensive skill simulator assessment in our Crewing Training Center in Singapore. Our Training Masters continuously monitor and develop skills and leadership on board and we support young cadets in their further careers by means of sponsorship. Local Crews are trained if and when needed and client specific training-programs are supported and conducted by our trainingteam, based in Singapore.
In-house LNG emergency response training
Our concern for safety is a good example of our profound involvement. Actively engaged in creating procedures for LNG emergency response, we share our expertise with our clients and provide personnel training to enhance awareness, skill and knowledge. Smit Lamnalco recently developed an in-house LNG emergency response training-program based on the SIGTTO guidelines. A theoretical e-learning tool for crewmembers, complete with certificates, designed for mobile use.
